Jibenquan Move List

Jibenquan (Basic Fist Form) is the primary starting form for Wudang Gongfu. This, plus stances, some drills, and the Wudang 36 Kicks form the primary starting curriculum for students' first six months to a year of training.


The following technique is a great reference for those recently learning the form, and need a reminder of the order and steps:


1st Form 基本套路 Ji Ben Tao Lu

1. Preparatory posture
2. Horse stance, right punch, left punch
3. Left bow stance right punch 
4. Right bow stance left punch
5. Pat the horse, double punch
6. Transforming hands, side stance, right punch
7. Turn the body left, stand upright
8. Block, shaking step, right punch 
9. Pat the horse, double punch
10. Transforming hands, side stance, left punch
11. Turn the body left, stand upright
12. Step forward, raise the knee, grab, right punch
13. Turn the body to the right, fu stance, connecting chop
14. Left flicking kick, step forward, grab, lift the knee, left punch
15. Turn the body to the right, fu stance, connecting chop
16. Lift, right flicking kick, eagle hand, empty step lifting hand
17. Step forward, leaping flicking kick
18. Side horse stance, left vertical rib punch
19. Turn the body to the right, left punch
20. Left flicking kick, left punch
21. Step forward, leaping stamping kick
22. Side horse stance, right vertical rib punch
23. Tornado kick, lifting hold, double punch
24. Turn the body to the left, bow stance right punch
25. Right rib kick, brush the foot, side horse stance, right elbow strike.
26. Stepping in to seal.
